Channeling Erik at http://www.channelingerik.com is the work of physician and author (and mother) Elisa Medhus who lost her son to suicide on October 6, 2009, about which she writes, “Since that sad and tragic day, an overwhelming sense of grief and despair propelled me into a search for answers. Answers that would provide me and others with comfort and hope. Some of those answers came from the many books I bought, but many came from an unexpected source … Erik, himself. Through dreams, visitations and channeling, he describes what happens during the death process, what the afterlife is like, what he does with his time there, what it feels like to be a free soul, the nature of thought and reality, the meaning of life and the human experience, as well as other matters”. Closer Than Close at http://www.poetryinmotionfilms.com is an eighty-minute documentary about the spiritual or inner search for Truth. The film consists, on the one hand, of an ongoing conversation among a small group of young seekers reaching together for an understanding of Life's Reality, and on the other hand, of talks by three men who have found what they are looking for. The juxtaposition of these two mediums — struggling seekers and successful seekers — makes for a particularly rewarding viewing experience, offering as it does both the reassurance that we are not alone in our hopes and doubts and fears, and the promise that yes, even we, whoever we are, can succeed. This film has a nice, poetic flow, enhanced by good music and beautiful images from nature.

Christ, Yes; Religion, No. This book is the work of TZF’s good friend, Art Hale. The book’s fundamental premise is that the teachings of Jesus, on the one hand, and the creeds and doctrines of Christianity, on the other, are two entirely different things; and a seeker should feel free to reach for the former, while rejecting any or all of the latter that proves unhelpful. Among the subjects addressed in the book are: the “essential polarity of creation”; the tendency of religions to use “fear, guilt, and shame as motivators”; and ways and means of achieving conscious contact with All That Is through prayer and meditation. Regrettably, the book is out of print and no longer available. Art has submitted a poem and a short story to TZF's Open Space, and he is a frequent contributor to TZF's Open Forum, where he is known as W4TVQ.

SpiritSite.com at http://www.spiritsite.com/. This very nice site calls itself “a home for spiritual book and audio excerpts, columnists, and more”. It’s a good thing they included “and more” in the description, because here you will find a lot of that! There are brief biographies of various teachers, columnists, and others, descriptions of and excerpts from numerous books and other writings of interest to seekers on any path, audio clips of music, sermons, and other talks, and … well, more.

Since 1995, Art in Context Center for Communications, a publicly supported nonprofit organization, has maintained this site as an online reference library for the publication and dissemination of information about artists and where to find their work. The photograph “Mt. Fuji”, that appears on TZF’s Art Gallery page, is among the works cited here.

Apparently a product of the Sociology Department of the University of Virginia, this site offers a wealth of information of interest to all seekers. Here you will find numerous excellent profiles of groups, teachers, organizations, gurus, and so on, as well as thoughtful background discussions concerning religion and spirituality generally, and a lot of other very good stuff. These pages are a genuine resource! (See also the “Rick Ross” site on this page.)

America’sDoctor.Com at http://www.americasdoctor.com/. This site describes itself as “an Internet-based, health information and resource site designed to assist consumers with their health information inquiries.” It includes an extensive library of health-related information and a lot of other very good stuff, including real-time chat capability with a medical doctor. Although not to be confused with an actual visit with an actual medical practitioner, this site is a valuable resource.
